Apricots have been domesticated in the 3rd millennia BC. They arrived to our premises over the Silk Road, making its way from Eastern Asia, across the Mediterranean, all the way to our region. Ancient Romans spread apricots throughout Europe around 70 years BC.

The moderate continental climate of our area allows for the apricot to naturally develop its precious taste and aroma. It wasn’t even a matter of question whether to use apricots or not. It would be very difficult to bypass making an apricot rakija considering how magical it is to enjoy a glass of it.
